Knowledgeable tour guides from The Great War Exhibition will take you on a journey through layers of fascinating history at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park.

Understand the history at Pukeahu, Mt Cook, in the heart of the city and how it was transformed from a site of Maori occupation, to a military barracks, and now a site of national remembrance.

Pukeahu Historic Tours are free – Receive a complimentary $10 Guided Tour Voucher of The Great War Exhibition to use on the day. ($15 admission into the exhibition still applies).

Tours depart at 11.00am daily 22nd – 28th October. Or timing by arrangement for group of 10+. Tour lasts 50 minutes. Bookings are essential.

The Great War Exhibition

Sense the hardship, heroism and tragedy of World War I. The Great War Exhibition includes a remarkable collection of objects, hundreds of colourised photographs, miniature models and movie-like sets to tell the story of this terrible war. Challenge yourself in The Trench Experience! In this extraordinary re-creation of the trenches at Quinn’s Post, experience what it was like for the Anzac troops at Gallipoli. Created by Sir Peter Jackson and supported by ANZ, exhibition is open daily 9am–6pm. Admission charges apply.
