Historic Halfway House Heritage Garden

Enjoy a walk around the heritage garden at the historic Halfway House, Glenside Reserve.

Spring flowers and spacious lawns with park benches to sit on. A kitchen garden beneath orchard trees. Pretty plants from the past, selected as growing in New Zealand before 1900. Garden certified as a moth and butterfly habitat.

Please note that the historic house is privately occupied.

Location
Small carpark on site. Driveway entrance is adjacent to Twigland Gardeners World on the north side. Please note the historic house is privately occupied. For those who want a bush walk following the garden visit, there is a gentle ten-minute loop track, at the driveway entrance, with an option of a new ten-minute loop extension. Thirsty and hungry? Thyme Cafe is next door.

Heritage Gardeners

The Heritage Gardeners are community volunteers. Our purpose is to develop the garden of the historic Halfway House at Glenside using plants and features that would have been typical in an 1840-1900 rural settlement to achieve a country look and feel.
