Find out about United States Armed Forces history during World War II, from 1942-1944.

There are three sites to visit in the Kāpiti district:

  • Marine Memorial and restored hut: Camp Russell, Queen Elizabeth Park(Mackay’s Crossing entrance)

  • Marines’ Signage Trail: Camp Mackay, Whareroa Farm, SH1, Mackay’s Crossing

  • Camp Paekākāriki: Queen Elizabeth Park, Wellington Road entrance, Paekākāriki

Health & Safety

Make sure to visit during daylight hours.

Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
