Tawa Heritage Talk and Walking Tour

Learn more about the history of Tawa and its heritage places through this event hosted by the Tawa Historical Society.

The event comprises of two parts - a 30 minute talk at the Tawa Community Centre and a walking tour of about 90 minutes following the Old Porirua Road through Tawa, finishing at the Bucket Tree Motel, next to Takapu Road railway station. Participants are welcome to attend either part of the event, or both, but need to note that the walk ends at a different place to its start, and consider transport options accordingly. The talk is free and the walking tour is by koha. Bookings are essential. Comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing is essential for the walking tour.

Health & Safety

A health and safety briefing will be given at the beginning of the talk and walking tour.

Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
