Hear stories about the lives of little-known and well-known Wellingtonians, a few villains, and some interesting gravestones.

This guided tour is a special opportunity to learn about those buried in Bolton Street Cemetery, Wellington’s first cemetery.

Health & Safety

Unfortunately, this event is not suitable for wheelchairs. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Some of the paths are steep and can be slippery, care is required. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.

Bolton Street Cemetery, Kinross Street entrance. Tour ends at the Bolton Street Cemetery Museum.

Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery

The Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery are an enthusiastic group of volunteers, some living in the neighbourhood, and some are descendants of people buried in the cemetery.
