Tour the Dominion Building

Take a tour through Dominion Building, the home of the Dominion Newspaper during the early 20th century.

In 1926 the Dominion Building (situated on Mercer Street) was opened in Wellington to house the publication team and the production of the Dominion Newspaper.  In 1996 Ian Athfield and his team converted this Chicago-styled heritage-listed building to commercial use as well as providing 3 levels of apartments.

During Wellington Heritage Festival there is an opportunity to be shown through the historic art deco building with a small group. Learn about its history and to also take the opportunity to view inside the iconic dome that has recently undergone a restoration. Booking is essential.
